Every event is a little different. The good energy is consistent.

How It Works

Once a month, we host a Books for the Trolley donation event at a local partner location.

You bring books that meet our donation guidelines. We review them onsite, thank you excessively, and load up the trolley.

Some months include donor perks like:

  • Gift cards to the host business
  • Free drinks or treats
  • Limited thank-you rewards for early donors
  • Bonus surprises when we're feeling festive

Donation Guidelines

We gladly accept books we'd feel good putting directly onto our shelves.

  • Fiction in good condition
  • Mystery, romance, fantasy, literary fiction, thrillers
  • Recent nonfiction
  • Memoirs, essays, wellness, business, pop culture
  • Children's books in clean condition
  • Cookbooks, art, design, and coffee table books
  • Clean paperbacks and hardcovers people still want to read

Usually Not a Fit

  • Water-damaged books
  • Mold, smoke odor, or heavy staining
  • Torn or heavily marked copies
  • Outdated textbooks
  • Encyclopedias
  • Reader's Digest condensed books
  • VHS manuals from 1997 (with respect)
